Upfront Outfitters, located in Washington State and New Mexico, was started by Western Washington state native and professional hunting guide Mike Jenkins in 2004. Mike has dedicated over 20 years of his life successfully guiding and hunting all major species of big game animals across the Western United states and Alaska. Mike grew up hunting the coastal mountains of Western Washington where he learned to successfully hunt and stalk Blacktail deer, Roosevelt elk and Black bear at an early age. Being the oldest of three boys, his dad had him out in the woods as soon as he was old enough to walk going camping, fishing, hunting and hiking. By the time Mike was 20 years old he had already successfuly harvested many Roosevelt elk and blacktail deer and was an avid salmon and steelhead fisherman. His outdoors passion then lead him to Alaska at the age of twenty where he worked in the timber industry and got his first experience of guiding hunters. As much as Mike loved the vast wilderness lifestyle of Alaska and hunting the endless amounts of wildlife, his passion for elk hunting soon took him to Montana to work as a fulltime hunting guide. Mike worked and Managed an Outfitting business in S.W Montana where he successfully hunted elk, deer, bear, moose and sheep. Mike also spent his time in the spring and summers working as a fly fishing guide on the Yellowstone, Madison, and Beaverhead rivers in Western Montana. Every year he would find his way back to Washington to hunt his home state for elk and one of Washington states deer species. With his four children living in Alaska Mike would always make time to go back every spring for bear hunting and some of the best steelhead fishing known to man. In the fall he would travel back to hunt deer.  In the 1990's Mike made his way south to
New Mexico where he started guiding archery elk hunters in the Gila national forest. He fell in love with the place. He started guiding archery elk hunters in New Mexico every year and would then make his way back to washington to hunt Blacktail deer or Mule deer and Roosevelt elk.

Mike has been dedicated and passionate about the outdoors and hunting for many years. He gave up hunting for himself to be in the field hunting all of the time. He now lives his hunting dreams through other peoples tags. You couldn't ask for a more eager and dedicated guide. He hunts every hunt just as if it were for himself which shows his passion. Mikes knowledge of big game, Big game hunting and calling abilities have earned him the spot on many ProStaff including Cabela's, Eberlestock Packs, MossBack Game calls and Formerly on Knight and Hale calls and
Point Blank Calls. He is also a Professional seminar speaker, speaking about big game hunting around the country in the winter and spring months. Upfront Outfitters currently guides in New Mexico for elk, deer, bear, and antelope and Also in their home state of Washington for all species of big game.
